Noire de Villaine is a French basketry willow that grows tall and un-branched and has wonderful glossy Olive-brown rods which are strong and even. The colour of the rods and their aspect makes them quite dramatic in winter when planted together, they also contrast very well with other Osier varieties if you want mixed planting in your structure. This variety roots easily and leaves will develop low down on the rod making it ideal for living structures, it also tends to hold onto its leaves later in the autumn than the Viminalis varieties. Each rod is 180-200cm tall and we sell them in packs of 10 rods.
