Melanostachys comes in 10"-12" cuttings. This willow is just a little bit special! It is very unusual with rods that are acid green at the base and tipped bright red in the winter making it a special sight. It then bears unique, ornamental black and crimson catkins in February. It is slow growing with a low spreading aspect. Suitable as an ornamental willow in a border or in flower arrangements. In makes a nice low shrub with pink stems in the winter months. Great food for bees and other wildlife and looks absolutely fantastic as well!
