Hybrid Red comes in 10"-12" cuttings. This is one of the nicest coloured of the more vigorous varieties. A Viminalis hybrid it has lovely thick red and green rods with red bud scales. It grows strongly, but not too tall, rods reaching around 5-8' on our site each year. The leaves are quite broad and fall early in the Autumn leaving an attractive forrest of red-green rods with an attractive velvet sheen towards the tips. The rods can have some branching at the ends but not too much. 

This is a very attractive willow which gives lovely colour to a hedge or into a living structure and can contrast well with other planting. The rods dry to a Reddish brown giving colour to a chunky basket and Christmas wreaths.
