Flanders Red comes in 10"-12" cuttings. A very nice ornamental basket willow with rods that grow up to 3m (9'). Its waxy skin surface makes the rods really nice to work and it is much sought after by basket makers.

When young it's more green than red but it has an attractive red blush to the tips which darkens in winter. This variety grows tall early in the spring, with long elegant red stems. It is a fast growing willow so needs to be well coppice each year or it will branch and quickly get out of control. It is a lovely colourful addition to your winter garden as well as being very useful for weaving. Rods dry to a rich orangey brown.
