Dasycladous comes in 10"-12" cuttings. This is a fantastically elegant, fast growing willow. It has attractive shiny rods in a burgundy to milk chocolate colour which grow strong and tall. They get quite branched and reach 10-12 tall in a year.
Leaves arrive early and are long and pointed, bright green with pink edges. They are reminiscent of bamboo as much as willow.
The catkins, pink tipped and narrow, cover the rod from early Spring and are loved by bees.
A wonderful ornamental willow and great for forming a thick hedge with interest all year around.
Although not a natural basketry variety small thinner material adds nice colour to a weave
