Bori Pescara comes in 10"-12" cuttings. I love this really ornamental basketry willow. It has slender tall dark purple rods, very fine with green bases and bright red side shoots. The leaves are small and dark and contrast beautifully but it looks impressive when the leaves fall and the full colour of the stems is revealed.
Growth is almost circular and if left unpruned it will form an attractive shrubby hedge. In the late winter it gets fat buds followed by attractive catkins.
A native of the Balkans this is a hardy willow variety that will tolerate dry soil.
